Delete Your Account
You can delete your eResonate account at any time, on the website or in the app. It happens at once and cannot be undone. You may want to download your data first.
1. How to Delete It
- On the website: sign in, open Settings, choose Account, then Delete My Account. Export My Data, in the same place, downloads your data first.
- In the app: open Settings & Privacy, then under Account choose Delete account. Before you confirm, the app lists what will be deleted and what will be kept.
- If you cannot sign in: use your recovery code to get back in, or write to privacy@eresonate.com from the email address on the account and we will delete it for you.
Deleting the app does not delete your account. Deleting your account in the app also signs the app out on that device and clears what it stored there.
2. What Is Deleted
Your account and profile, your posts and comments, your messages, your connections, follows and blocks, your group memberships, the pages you ran on your own, your sign-in records, your age and consent records, and the app keys and device records linked to your account. Your photos stop being served at once.
3. What Is Kept
- The other person's copy of direct messages you exchanged, shown as from "Former member", so the person you wrote to keeps their own conversation. This is not done when we delete the account of a child under 13.
- Photos, voice notes and files you shared in a group, which are taken down at once and kept privately for one year, so that a report, a dispute or a legal request can still be answered, and are then deleted.
- Reports you filed, without your name.
- Show agreements you signed, as legal and rights records.
- Booking requests you sent to a venue, without your contact details.
- Legal, safety and finance records, such as preserved evidence and records of removed content.
- If you bought anything through the App Store, Apple's own purchase records.
Our Privacy Policy explains how long each is kept.
4. Sign in with Apple
If you used Sign in with Apple in the app, we revoke eResonate's access to your Apple Account when you delete your eResonate account. If you used Sign in with Apple only on the website, or if the app tells you the access could not be removed, you can remove it yourself: in the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, find Sign in with Apple, choose eResonate, and stop using your Apple Account with it. Without an iPhone or iPad, you can manage Sign in with Apple at account.apple.com, under Sign-In & Security. Where Sign in with Apple appears in Settings depends on your version of iOS.
5. When a Deletion Has to Wait
If your account is subject to a legal hold, for example because it is part of a safety investigation, we cannot delete it until the hold ends. We tell you when that happens, and privacy@eresonate.com can explain.
